Engelmann Spruce, most well known for its excellent tone quality, is an amazingly strong, light and flexible wood and has exceptional stiffness-to-weight ratio. It also has beautiful uniform colour, usually a cream to almost white.

AAA grade is a near perfect top, narrow even grain, and cross grain is very stiff.

127-P was cut in 2000 and has been stored indoors since. This well aged top is ready to be worked. Please not the small bug hole at the centre joint. It extends only 5mm inwards and 300mm from the bottom. This still allows plenty of room for glue-up. See photos for reference.
